OSHEE Group aims to modernize the electricity meter reading process through Artificial Intelligence, increasing data accuracy and reducing errors in customer billing.

The use of technology is also bringing changes to the electricity sector. OSHEE Group has planned the development of new functionalities in the Metering Platform, focusing on automating controls and improving the consumption recording process.

One of the main innovations is the integration of Artificial Intelligence and OCR technology, which enables the automatic recognition of numbers in meter photographs. Employees will photograph the meter during the reading process, while the system will compare the value identified with the one recorded manually. Any discrepancy will be flagged for further verification.

In addition, the platform will use GPS coordinates to check the location, date, and time of the reading, helping to identify irregularities. Controls will also include an analysis of consumption history, so that values outside the usual parameters can be identified as anomalies.

These mechanisms aim to improve process monitoring, help identify energy losses, and limit opportunities for errors or abuse when recording consumption.

However, the project does not envisage replacing on-site meter reading with smart meters. The aim is to strengthen digital controls over the existing process, increasing the transparency and reliability of the data used to bill customers.

With this initiative, OSHEE aims to improve electricity metering management and create a more controlled, accurate, and efficient process for consumers.
