The reconstruction process in Tirana continues to make significant progress, as construction has officially begun on 223 new apartments in the Kombinat area. These homes are intended for families benefiting from the national reconstruction program. The project represents not only the construction of new housing but also the urban transformation of one of the areas most affected by the earthquake. Construction work has begun on Shaban Bardhoshi Street, following the completion of procedures that allowed the demolition of an existing building. For years, the development of this project had been delayed due to lengthy legal proceedings and property ownership disputes over the land. With these obstacles now resolved, the way has been cleared for the construction of a new residential complex that will provide homes for hundreds of families who lost their houses in the earthquake. The reconstruction program in Kombinat continues to move forward at a steady pace. So far: 664 apartments have already been allocated, and beneficiary families have moved into their new homes. An additional 75 apartments are expected to be allocated through a lottery scheduled for September. Procedures are also underway for two turnkey residential buildings, which will provide approximately 100 additional apartments. The construction of these 223 new apartments is part of a broader plan aimed at gradually completing the housing process for families affected by the earthquake. The project is not limited to the construction of residential buildings. Alongside the apartments, authorities will also rehabilitate the surrounding infrastructure, including roads, public spaces, and urban amenities, transforming the area into a modern and functional residential complex.
